If you want an email client you can use to read new email messages, send out new messages, and make sure you are not bothered by spam, you should give the Gammadyne-developed Clyton a try. It comes with all the functionality you would expect from an email client: easy to use and customizable interface, advanced security and spam filtering, easily create a mailbox, mass mail, search, and more.

Clyton can be installed on a PC powered by Windows 2000, XP, 2003, Vista, 2008, or 7. To install the application, you will have to go through a standard setup process: download an executable, run it, click through the setup wizard. When you’re done with the installation and you run the application for the first time, you are presented with a Welcome prompt that invites you to import contacts, create mailbox, or view the Help file.

On the left hand side of its customizable interface, Clyton presents a tree-view of your Contacts, Mailboxes, and Settings. Using this tree-view you will be able to easily navigate the application’s interface. I mentioned that the interface is customizable: increase and decrease font size, show enlarge/shrink buttons, or pick one of the many supported skins.

As mentioned above, Clyton is an email client for Windows-powered machines. It has the following features to offer: import and export settings, create mailbox, mail templates, import messages, send out single and mall mail, guard against spam, calculator, calendar, color picker, search, and more. The bad news is that by using the trial version you don’t have access to a lot of functions: mass mail tool, search all tool, incoming script, encrypt stored email feature, lock mailbox features, G-Merge functions in templates, auto-attachments feature, encrypt/decrypt all tool, shred tool, shred old messages option, empty folder tool, and support for DomainKeys and DKIM – all these are not available in the trial.

Clyton can prove to be a very handy tool for anyone who has to manage large amounts of mails.

Pros

Easily install Clyton on anything from Windows 2000 up to Windows 7. The user friendly interface can be customized. Clyton offers all the functionality you would expect from an email client.

Cons

Limited functionality in the trial version.
